About a week ago, the kids from my church group had a form of youth group. We got together at the "Gs'" house, sang some songs, and talked about our weeks. It was fun.
My friend, Amanda, who was at youth group, talked about actually being at the Inauguration for the new President, Barack Hussein Obama. (Is that how a person would spell Barack?) She said that "It was cold, but really incredible to be part of history." To be part of history. That seems like it's becoming a cliche lately with the new African-American President.
Anyway, after youth group, we went upstairs to rock out while the boys played music with Joel G's drum set, guitar, and microphone. We had fun.
In the middle of the song "Drama Queen" by Family Force 5, Joel got a call on his cellphone. It was the lead singer of a local band, Leap of Faith, calling about the concert that they were going to play that night. You see, Joel is one of the guitarists for the band.
Joel had to leave in the middle of the song to go get ready at the church that they were going to have the concert at. After he left, most of the kids went outside and ran around pointlessly in the woods for about 15 minutes, then tramped back indoors to eat a tasty dinner.
The meal was quite good, consisting of mashed potatoes, chicken, stir-fry broccoli (YUM!!!), corn on the cob, and Pepsi. When we finished dinner, we had a small, 5 minute game of tag outside, then we all piled into the car to head off to Joel's concert.
We arrived at the church about 20 minutes before the main band, Leap of Faith, started playing.

We watched as a "battle of the bands" unfolded on the stage. Some of the bands were, to put it bluntly, really really bad. Others, surprisingly, were great!
While we were waiting for Leap of Faith to come onstage, a little girl (I'd say about 3 or 4 years old) was rolling around in front of us, on the floor. Normally, that would be okay with me, but every so often, she would scream. It appeared as though she was having a spas(z?)-attack.

Anyway, the concert was really fun. Leap of Faith played some Switchfoot songs like Awakening and Meant to Live. We jumped around a lot.
So, that's pretty much it. The ride home was fun because it was me, my friend Amanda, a boy named Kyle, and Joel. We sang Relient K songs and talked music all the way back.

Sounds like fun. Uh! No fair- we don't have corn on the cob here unless it's summer. Phooey!
