Hurricane Ike = Threat?

This past week, I have been hearing a lot about hurricanes. I guess you could call it annoying, but when one actually comes, and you have been informed about it so many times that you think your head is going to explode, you will be grateful that the weather people gave you enough time to put the shutters up. That is my take on it- you can add yours if you want, as always....
Anyway, this hurricane named Ike is coming (whenever I hear that name, I think about Super Smash Bros. Brawl... whatever. I am getting off track...), and I don't know what direction it is going! (If only the weather people would talk about it even more....) I have heard two things, that suggest that it is going in two different directions at once.
I heard that the governor of Florida, Charlie Crist, has declared that we are in a "state of emergency," but I didn't catch if it is just the Keys that are like that, or South Florida, where I live. Hmmmmm......
Also, I heard that it was going up into the gulf, ready to hit Louisiana with another strong blow. Why do they always get two hurricanes- right after the other? It doesn't make much sense to me.
But don't ask the weather people. They will start talking "all scientific- like" about it, and start repeating it over, and over, and over, and over, and........

My Science Book is Pretty Wierd

My science curriculum is called Lyrical Life Science. It's Biology or something. But, to bring meaning to the "lyrical" part of it, the author takes a normal tune that you might hear like "Oh! Susannah!"or"Yankee Doodle" and puts different lyrics to it, kind of like Weird Al. Here are the words to one of the songs put to the tune of "Shortnin' Bread:"
DNA is what they say, made you what you are today
Like a program it will tell, what will happen in each cell
DNA is a molecule, look real close, it's really cool
Like a ladder in a double helix, so simple yet so complex.
(Chorus)
De-oxy-ribo nucleic acids talkin' 'bout genes and chromosomes
De-oxy-ribo nucleic acids talkin' 'bout genes and chromosomes
:) (:
In chromosomes made of DNA, there is a particular way
Nitrogen bases can be seen, in special orders to make a gene
When organisms reproduce, different genes are on the loose
Dominant and/or recessive, the offspring gets traits the parents give.
(Chorus)
Genetics is the study of heredity, it may use probability
To predict just how likely, results of genetic crosses will be.
(Chorus)
Genetic engineers can use, parts of different molecules
Changing DNA around, to solve a problem they have found.
(Chorus)

(Fanfare) I Have A Question!

I have a question. I know I have already posted about American Idol, but this time... it's different.

I want to know who YOU are rooting for. I think that would be fun. And 2 more things. I want (1) to put this awsome robot up on my blog, and (2) to actually ask a question.

I have already told you in a post who I was rooting for, but I will tell you again in case you missed it: Blake and Melinda.

American Idol

I am rooting for Blake and Melinda. I do not know who is going to go first though. I love them both.

My favorite judge is Simon (of course) and I also like the host, Ryan Seacrest. I like his last name. It makes me think of huge frothy waves. The name Ryan doesn't really remind me of anything.

I think that the little intro thingy to the show is awsome. Just a lot of animation. But, I have noticed that there is a change in gender of the little animated guy. Somehow they change that without me knowing when. Pretty smart. But why change genders?

BugBites

I do not like bugbites. They are horrid. I got a batch while camping last weekend. I had a good time at the camp, but I paid the price! No fun.

Camping is awsome, but bugs go along with it. I wish not. They itch. Why do bugs have to do that anyways?

They are probably thinking, "What the heck is this? A big skin colored mountain. I guess I'll bite into it!" Yeah. Thanks bugs.

PS: I do not have any pic for this. Sorry. :)
